Unless we are meant to die within the next second, both the moment we are looking forward to – as well as the moment we fear – inevitably happen with our next breath to become the present moment – the only moment that is truly ours to shape from the inside/out by the manner in which we will respond to it.
Put simply, if we are willing to practice being present in the moment through an *active* acceptance of the *crap* that is in our present reality – if we learn to accept it as the current karmic test of our spiritual commitment to OUR selves, then we are on our way to actively practice a genuine form of spirituality- the only form that IS karma amending.

It is far easier to pop pills than to attempt understanding what lurks at the low end of our ego.
It is also much easier than facing our fears and insecurities, as they lead us by the nose moment by moment, one impulse, one knee-jerk at a time. It is so much easier that, in spite of each pill triggering an inordinate list of possible side-effects, from sleeping pills to Prozac to ‘party drugs’ to Oxycontin, a highly addictive opioid analgesic used as a mood enhancer, to the ubiquitous drop of alcohol, we have made ours a drug-dependent society – not to mention the drugs we ingest daily because of physical ailments which, dare I state the obvious, from rashes and constipation to heart attacks and arthritis and cancers … all have their root in our inner malady.

Would the REAL soul, please, rise!
Souls pick us to be their upgraded vehicle to karmic enlightenment – go figure! – which is why it is tacitly accepted that we ARE able to overcome all and any of the karmic challenges that come our way – if and only if we can tackle them in a spiritual manner which, of course, is not the way our western culture has ever taught anyone to overcome anything.
