Irish? I would have thought the doors would have been painted ... green.
joke, joke :)

Today @ my end, the day that's already almost over, was St Patrick's Day.
Not a nano ounce of Irish me - that I know of - but I wore green all the same.
So Happy St Pat's Day to you, MysticMama :-)

How interesting...I have a white front door which is said to be a beacon for angels to enter when they are needed, I have many ghosts and so can't really do the red-door thing as I like having them around.

I am going to paint a red flower in a red pot outside my door as if I used real ones I would need to buy a new one every week...yep It's that kind of neighbourhood as well as the fact that flowers & plants have a tendency to die on me.

There are so many fascinating historical, cultural & religious traditions behind red doors. I live in a mostly Jewish neighborhood where a large majority of front doors are painted red as a symbol of faith...but being of Irish descent myself...we paint our front doors red to keep ghosts out.

Since most cultures have good reasons for painting a front door red...I don't see how anyone could go wrong with a red front door!
