Remember, we are souls in disguise. We are disguised in our body, in a body suit or, as Alan Watts called it, in our ‘bag of skin’. Remember, too, that though we only have one lifetime to act out, our soul is already loaded down by a heavy string of lives, past incarnations, anchored in the Dawn of Times.

It is through a soulful link to our spirit and through the underlying principle that, though each challenge comes uninvited and is always most inopportune, we need to ‘actively’ accept all our disappointments and setbacks with an open heart. Accepting under duress and acquiring a ‘poor me’ victim status are not viable options. It doesn’t score us any points but this resentful passivity does make us sick. The tale below was given to me a few years ago by my spiritual teacher. It’s time to share it. Rich or poor, many more human-made disasters and tragedies will shape us into a more humble humanity.
The time to simply donate money and the time to simply donate our time are simply soon to be over.
If the writing is not truly ‘on the wall’, it has certainly leaked out of Deepwater.

Unlike the caterpillar, we don’t metamorphose. Not unless we commit to an active path towards personal evolution – one that dictates a change, not through chants, crystals and visualization, but from rethinking thinking, rethinking what love is and doing our darnedest to generate it from the inside/out.

The forces of nature along with personal as well as separate/collective karma are going about the business of teaching us, mankind, essential lessons in spiritual survival with the single-minded energy of the one who, stranded on an island, must break open coconuts with bare hands to get to the sweet flesh within.
