On Shamanic Circles and Finding the Wyrd

Today (Friday the 4th) I took part in a Shamanic Circle which journeyed to the Well of the Wyrd at the base of the World Tree Yggdrasil. There were were able to meet the 3 Norns and speak to them individually to ask them our questions.

I ventured forth not knowing at first what my question might be, but knew once I arrived what I needed to ask. Of the first I asked – what can I learn from my past. I was instructed to drink from a cup at the well. She showed me how all that I have been through in life has forged me, as a sword is forged in flame and quenched by water.

I was then beckoned forth by Skuld who spoke not a word to answer my question, “What is in my future?”

As she worked the threads, adding tangles and binding strands together, my hand began to move to weave threads of their own.

I heard in my heart what I need to do. I need to learn to Weave the Wyrd.

Coming home again afterwards, I have stopped to ask the Amulets – How do I learn to weave the Wyrd?

This was their response.

Dancing Bird Goddess

I can dance the ecstasy of my own life into being. The answer is in my hands and I know how to shape it.

Temple

I am about to take a big step in my spiritual life. Practise being in my own body – meditation, journeying, questing.

A reminder to maintain balance between extremes. Finding a balance between the spirit world and this world.

Cat

Again, a reminder that I have the skills and power I need within my own power bundle. Past experiences have events have given me the information I need.

Comb

Rely on the wisdom in my own body. Listen to my own intuition and inner power.

Cow

Cow is here to make sure I understand that as I am being told that I have the knowledge and the power I need within me, I don’t have to do it on my own. I will be forging new friendships and partnerships as I explore this new area to my life.

Amulet Reading 4

Nile River Goddess — Stand in triumph

Sow — root out and listen

Ewe — self-worth is everything

Triple Spiral – 3 courses of action ahead

Gorgon – transforming anger

The Nile River Goddess stands with strength and in success and triumph to tell you it is time to stand tall. Look at where you have come from and honour the progress you have made.

Sow says to listen carefully not only to what is being said around you, but to what isn’t being said, and to what you are telling yourself. Root out the negative messages and remove them.

Ewe tells you to look to what you have accomplished. You are allowing someone to take your self-worth and power away from you, and that needs to stop.

The Triple Spiral indicates 3 courses of action coming ahead for you. One will lead to the Gorgon and that way will be difficult. You will need to face your own anger and actively work on transforming that anger into something productive. But, if you take this path, you will emerge from the other side triumphant (Nile River Goddess) and a better person for it.

Amulet of the Goddess Circle of Elders

Reading 1

To ensure anonymity I will be referring to the readings by number. The individual requesting the reading will be notified privately of their number.

Tonight, I will share with you Reading 1.

Night star – wish fulfilment

Eyes – seeing what is there

Cow – partnerships, relationships

Sprouting seed – new situations just coming up

Temple – balance,  a new opportunity, a new life path

The Nightstar is telling you to make your wishes, whether through prayer or meditation or wishing upon a star. The energies of the Universe are available to you now. Use them.

The Eyes come next to tell you in part to be careful what it is you wish for. Remember the adage: Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. Open your eyes to see what is there and what isn’t there. Live in stillness for a short while, just watching doing nothing.  Focus on your intent, know what it is you truly want, then make your wish.

Third of the Goddess Amulets is The Cow.  Sometimes this can indicate a business partnership, but I sense this is more personal,  a spouse or partner.  She is here to remind you that your wish is not being made alone. You need to involve your partner in the wish-making process. It is not your wish individually; it belongs to both of you.

Sprouting Seeds come now to tell you that while you may not be aware of it, the seeds of this wish have already been put into the ground. While you may not be able to see them, they are just beginning to sprout and manifest changes in your life leading you to the wish you will be making.

Finally, The Temple is here to tell you that a new opportunity and a new life path will be presenting itself to you. You have gone through a major time of healing and you are ready to move through the doorway onto a new path.

I don’t get a sense on where this will be leading you, but I do think this will be a major change in your life direction from where you had been heading.

Amulet of the Day – Labrys

Priestess Power

This image of a double-sided axe was found on the side of a Minoan vase, dated from 1,600 BCE. It was a symbol of the ancient, mythical Amazon tribes of Asia, North Africa, Anatolia, and the Black Sea area. They were the priestesses of Artemis.

The Labrys is a symbol of regeneration and the powers of life unfolding.

When you draw out the Labrys it is a signal that you are ready to embrace the power of the priestess within you. You are more aware of your psychic powers and have found yourself in a position of leadership to others. You understand the need for balance in a world that is constantly evolving and changing. As well, you understand the need for change and evolution as that which cannot or does not change must stagnate and die.

This may mean you will face a time of radical truth-telling. You may need to confront situations, personal or political, using words, thoughts and creative expressions that may be considered a bit unorthodox to others. Face it bravely, with the Labrys in your hand.

Amulet of the day: Temple

Breakthrough, Awakening, Healing

Temple

Breakthrough, Awakening, Healing

Some of the oldest megalithic temples dedicated to Goddesses can be found on the Mediterranean island of Malta. The image on this amulet is from a temple entranceway at Hagar Qim on Malta. These entrance stones were covered with spiral patterns found on other megalithic gateways elsewhere in Europe. They measure up to five by four yards in size.

The Temple Amulet indicates that you are about to take a big step in your life. A change has brought you to a critical place. An emotional crisis, an upset or accident. Something has happened that has had a profound effect on your life, whether that me a current event or a memory of a past event resurfacing.

This is the time to focus your energies on taking care of yourself. Practice being “inside” your body. Deal with any physical health issues. Pamper yourself with massage and quiet walks in nature. Take a bath, eat slowly, meditate – whatever you can do that will help you to experience and be aware of actually being inside yourself.

The Temple can also represent balance and the union of opposites. It’s a reminder to find balance within your own life as you walk down the center between the stone pillars. Avoid extremes.

Your own healing crisis is awakening you to your responsibilities for  and connections with others. Use the Temple to help you focus your energies.
