Amulet Reading 3

Eyes – all seeing, inner visions

Cow – partnerships

Sprouting Seeds – new start

Whirlwinds – change unseen

Owl – seeing in darkness

The Eyes are showing you new insights into a relationship. Your perception of your relationships with others is going to change. Avoid compulsive actions at the moment. Make sure what you are seeing is really there.

The Cow indicates partnership. This would indicate to me that your new insights are in regards to someone you have a closer relationship or a partnership with.

The Sprouting Seeds indicate that you are in a new and very tender situation at the moment, and need to work carefully. Remove that which isn’t needed, the weeds, but be careful not to lose the plant as well.

The Whirlwinds are telling you to trust what you cannot yet see. Detach yourself from the storms around you, and find the calm in your center-being.

The Owl provides wisdom in the darkness. She will guide you when you cannot see. Listen and watch, with your ears, your eyes and with your heart. Trust your intuition. Again, you are being cautioned to move slowly and carefully consider your actions and words. This isn’t a time for rash or compulsive reactions. It’s a time to consider carefully and trust through the stillness.

The Council of Elders

Amulet of the Day – Gorgon Goddess

Transforming Anger; Reclaiming Power

The most recognised Gordon is the Greek Medusa, slain by Perseus. She was the frightful hag with snakes for hair who could turn men to stone with a look. Aspects of Her can also be seen in the Hindu Kali.

This particular image is of a Gorgon mask found at the Temple of Artemis on Corfu. It is about 2,600 years old.

The Gorgon sits on the Council of Elders to tell you that it’s time to allow yourself to feel anger and rage. More than that though, she is telling you to look closely at how you Dance with Anger.

Are you hiding your anger? Are you masking it away? Are you denying your instinctual gut feelings?

It is time to reclaim your power. Time to use your anger to reshape your life instead of allowing it to use you.

The first step is allowing yourself to physically feel anger. Identifying how it physically feels when it first appears. This is not a time for intellectual analysis. When you find yourself becoming angry, stop and breathe into the places where you feel the anger growing. Allow yourself to just be in your body and let your energies and your breath flow with the anger.

When you are fully within your body you will be able to manage your anger wisely, instead of lashing out. You will be able to tackle the cause of your anger more effectively. You will be able to reclaim your power instead of giving it away.

An Amulet Reading

There are different ways of reading the Amulets, using 1, 5, or 7 amulets.

Most often I do a drawing using 5 amulets, putting them before me in a semi-circle like a Council of Elders.

I’ve drawn 5 out now to do a sample reading.

Moon time

Moon time

Cat

Protecting good fortune

Owl

Wisdom of the Darkness

Ewe

Self-worth

Willendorf Goddess

Belonging

Taken as a whole they can give you a good bit of insight and advice, sometimes not the advice you wanted to hear mind you, but good advice none the less.

The Laussel Goddess is reminding you to slow down and take your time, listen to the cycles of your body and the world around you. Look at how your own moods and energy levels are affected by the cycles of the moon.

The Cat is telling you to protect the good things in your life. She is also the bearer of good fortune. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, you’ve earned your good fortunes.Gather around you those people who are happy and supportive of the good in your life, keep close those who can sustain you with encouragement and enthusiasm.

The Owl tells you that these are people you might meet in unusual circumstances , in darkness or unseen. To me, this indicates friends who have never met face to face. Friendships forged through internet connections. Owl will guide you in where you need to go to find these connections.

The Ewe says it’s time to toot your own horn, time to emphasize and encourage the value of your own accomplishments and talents. Your influences and actions have an effect on your environment. If you feel unworthy, who are you deferring your power to? If you think someone else is “better” or more talented, look at it. Practice this very powerful mantra: I AM!

Find your own creative way by listening to your inner voice.

Finally, The Willendorf Goddess tells you that you belong. She has come to tell you that your presence counts. You are important. Take your eyes off “others” and focus on your own bounty, your own good fortunes, your own talents. Avoid comparing yourself with others which will always lead to isolation and loneliness.

Taken all together:

All things in life moves in cycles. As good things and good fortunes come to you, protect them. Gather people near to you in your life who will help you in this. One area where you can do this is through networking via the internet (friends unseen). As you gather people close, learn from them but do not judge yourself by their actions or compare yourself to them. You belong just as surely as any other person, with your own talents and your own skills to offer.

Amulet of the Day – Snake

The Snake – Shedding Fear; Renewing Hope

Shedding Fear; Renewing hope

This particular amulet comes from a seal carving found in ancient Crete. It is dated back to around 2,000 BCE.

Across ancient Europe the snake was revered, but never more so tham in Crete.

It could shed its skin without dying, making it a powerful metaphor for regenerative forces. Several statues on Crete show a female figure holding a snake in each hand, often staring trance-like, as a prophetic seer.

Snake Gods can be found in many cultures around the world, including India, Egypt, China, the Scandinavian countries, Australia, Native American myths, and the Mayan culture of Mexico as well as the later Aztec.

The Snake amulet comes to remind you that you carry the wisdom of the serpent deep within you. You can address all challenges with the power of the snake within you.

The Snake often comes to a person who has faced or is facing addictions or a difficult past with courage and commitment. You have journeyed to the centre of your soul and faced the “Death Goddess”. Now you are back in the arms of the Great Mother for renewal.

Transformation never ends. The “Dark Goddess” is not an enemy. She is an integral part of the God-force flowing within everything and everyone.

Have you been cutting yourself off from your feminine power? Focusing too much on one side, without balance? It’s time to journey into the Underworld to find and reintegrate those lost pieces of your self.
