Amulet reading of the week – 26 June

How can we best help to heal the earth?

I was focusing on the Gulf Oil Spill and asking of what we can do as a people to help the Earth in healing.

Nile River Goddess – Strength, Triumph, Success

Hand with Seeds – Accepting Responsibility

Gorgon Goddess

Transforming anger, reclaiming power

The Willendorf Goddess amulet reminds us of our connection to the Earth. Many people are feeling anger about the Gulf oil spill. This anger needs to be harnessed and focused to create change as at the moment it is being fired off in all directions and has been directed at the wrong places.  The best way to focus that energy is by identifying what the barriers are to creating healing, looking wt what we can and cannot do, and what will need to be left to Mother Nature to sort out, and making

Barriers, boundaries, and possibilities

plans based upon what we can do as individuals and within a group. Then doing it!

If we can do this, the Earth will be able to successfully recover.

And a final gentle reminder that we already have the tools we need in

Strength Triumph Success

hand, and we need to accept responsibility for our part in the creation of this disaster.

Accepting Responsibility

Amulet of the Day – Labrys

Priestess Power

This image of a double-sided axe was found on the side of a Minoan vase, dated from 1,600 BCE. It was a symbol of the ancient, mythical Amazon tribes of Asia, North Africa, Anatolia, and the Black Sea area. They were the priestesses of Artemis.

The Labrys is a symbol of regeneration and the powers of life unfolding.

When you draw out the Labrys it is a signal that you are ready to embrace the power of the priestess within you. You are more aware of your psychic powers and have found yourself in a position of leadership to others. You understand the need for balance in a world that is constantly evolving and changing. As well, you understand the need for change and evolution as that which cannot or does not change must stagnate and die.

This may mean you will face a time of radical truth-telling. You may need to confront situations, personal or political, using words, thoughts and creative expressions that may be considered a bit unorthodox to others. Face it bravely, with the Labrys in your hand.

Amulet of the Day – Snake

The Snake – Shedding Fear; Renewing Hope

Shedding Fear; Renewing hope

This particular amulet comes from a seal carving found in ancient Crete. It is dated back to around 2,000 BCE.

Across ancient Europe the snake was revered, but never more so tham in Crete.

It could shed its skin without dying, making it a powerful metaphor for regenerative forces. Several statues on Crete show a female figure holding a snake in each hand, often staring trance-like, as a prophetic seer.

Snake Gods can be found in many cultures around the world, including India, Egypt, China, the Scandinavian countries, Australia, Native American myths, and the Mayan culture of Mexico as well as the later Aztec.

The Snake amulet comes to remind you that you carry the wisdom of the serpent deep within you. You can address all challenges with the power of the snake within you.

The Snake often comes to a person who has faced or is facing addictions or a difficult past with courage and commitment. You have journeyed to the centre of your soul and faced the “Death Goddess”. Now you are back in the arms of the Great Mother for renewal.

Transformation never ends. The “Dark Goddess” is not an enemy. She is an integral part of the God-force flowing within everything and everyone.

Have you been cutting yourself off from your feminine power? Focusing too much on one side, without balance? It’s time to journey into the Underworld to find and reintegrate those lost pieces of your self.

Amulet Reading 2 June 2010 Nile River Goddess

Strength Triumph Success

Today’s amulet – felt at the tip of my smallest finger as I inserted my hand into the bag – is the Nile River Goddess, symbolising Strength, Triumph, and Success.

This image comes from the Nile River area of pre-Dynastic Egypt and is approximately 5000 years old.

She comes today to remind me to celebrate my triumphs and successes. Look at where I have been and celebrate what I have achieved.

I set a goal last month and yesterday I reached it. To go through and update all 156 Squidoo lenses I had written. Yesterday, I completed that task. Every single lens has been updated at least once since the beginning of 2010.

I had fallen dreadfully behind in this, but today everything is fresh and renewed.
