Amulet of the Day – Willendorf Goddess

How could this be? One of the Goddess amulets finally got my attention enough for me to realise I had not featured it up here.

Belonging

Belonging

The Willendorf Goddess is a small sculpture, only a few inches in length and carved in limestone. She was discovered in 1908 near Willendorf, Austria and at nearly 30,000 years of age is the oldest sculpture of the human form ever found.

This is the Great Earth mother and she has come to you to give you comfort and to remind you that you are connected to all in existence because you are here and you are alive.

If you are feeling alone or disconnected it is because you have forgotten this. It’s time to re-affirm your connection to the Earth. It’s time to return to the Source of your being. Stop focusing on other people, what “others” have, what “others” are doing and focus instead on your own bounty in life, concentrate on where you belong instead of where you don’t.

You may be spending time comparing yourself negatively to others, this will always lead to isolation and loneliness.

Feel the connection you have with Mother Earth and know that you belong.

Where should my Mystical Focus be now

I have asked the Amulets – Where should my Mystical focus be now. I have been looking at different areas and actually am feeling just a bit pulled in different directions.

There’s my focus on the Amulets. My focus on Paganism and witchcraft. My focus on Reiki and energy healing.Where does it need to be?

These are the 5 Amulets which were drawn for this question.

Nile River Goddess

She is telling me to look at what I have accomplished thus far and to celebrate my successes there.

I have created blogs on 2 of these focus areas. Each is slowly pulling in a following.

Willendorf Goddess

This ancient Mother Goddess tells me that my focus is needed in each other these areas. I have things to share and much to teach people. She also reminds me of the interconnectedness of each of these areas.

Temple

I am on the verge of making a big step in my life. I am standing at the threshold. I need to find the balance between each part of who I am and pull them together again. I am the part of something much bigger than myself alone.

Inanna

Ask the questions that need to be asked. What would happen if…? Why? I am questions the path I am on. Let each question generate new questions and follow them where they might lead.

Gorgon

The sense I am getting here is not that of anger put passion. Let my passion for these subjects shine through.

So – where should my focus lie? Where it is now. It is right and good that I am focusing on these areas individually, but I also need to work on pulling them together and integrating them as each is connected to the others. Instil my own passion for these topics into my writing, and ask the questions that need to be asked to guide me to where I need to be.

Wisdom of the Darkness

The Ewe – Self-worth

It’s time to acknowledge the value of all you have accomplished. You do not have to prove your worthiness.

Willendorf Goddess – Belonging

Have you been feeling disconnected from the world? The Willendorf Goddess is here to remind you that you belong. You have a place and a purpose. Focus on what you have accomplished without comparing yours

elf to others.

Dolphin – Joy/Celebration

Good things are happening in your life. Take the time to rejoice and celebrate. It’s time to play. Find the place of laughter in your heart. There is great healing in laughter without purpose.

Spider - Sacred Creativity

The creativity and sacred dimensions you are seeking are already within you. Even the act of making a cup of tea can be a sacred act if you focus your intent and remain present “in the moment”.

Owl – Wisdom of the Darkness

Changes are coming into your life. They can’t be seen yet, but trust the Owl to lead you through to the other side. Trust your intuition. Step back from situations if you need before making decisions.

Most notable in this layout is the presence of 4 animal amulets. Do you find yourself being drawn to one? Use this time to learn more about that animal. Focus on the animal and listen to what it has to tell you.

I see in these amulets an urge to explore your creative urges. Where this will lead can’t be seen, but trust the Owl to lead you. While you are exploring remember to celebrate and be in the joy of “now” – that is where you will find your own sacred creative self. Doubts come from comparing yourself to others instead of knowing that you have self worth and that you belong.

An Amulet Reading

There are different ways of reading the Amulets, using 1, 5, or 7 amulets.

Most often I do a drawing using 5 amulets, putting them before me in a semi-circle like a Council of Elders.

I’ve drawn 5 out now to do a sample reading.

Taken as a whole they can give you a good bit of insight and advice, sometimes not the advice you wanted to hear mind you, but good advice none the less.

The Laussel Goddess is reminding you to slow down and take your time, listen to the cycles of your body and the world around you. Look at how your own moods and energy levels are affected by the cycles of the moon.

The Cat is telling you to protect the good things in your life. She is also the bearer of good fortune. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, you’ve earned your good fortunes.Gather around you those people who are happy and supportive of the good in your life, keep close those who can sustain you with encouragement and enthusiasm.

The Owl tells you that these are people you might meet in unusual circumstances , in darkness or unseen. To me, this indicates friends who have never met face to face. Friendships forged through internet connections. Owl will guide you in where you need to go to find these connections.

The Ewe says it’s time to toot your own horn, time to emphasize and encourage the value of your own accomplishments and talents. Your influences and actions have an effect on your environment. If you feel unworthy, who are you deferring your power to? If you think someone else is “better” or more talented, look at it. Practice this very powerful mantra: I AM!

Find your own creative way by listening to your inner voice.

Finally, The Willendorf Goddess tells you that you belong. She has come to tell you that your presence counts. You are important. Take your eyes off “others” and focus on your own bounty, your own good fortunes, your own talents. Avoid comparing yourself with others which will always lead to isolation and loneliness.

Taken all together:

All things in life moves in cycles. As good things and good fortunes come to you, protect them. Gather people near to you in your life who will help you in this. One area where you can do this is through networking via the internet (friends unseen). As you gather people close, learn from them but do not judge yourself by their actions or compare yourself to them. You belong just as surely as any other person, with your own talents and your own skills to offer.
